Following his acclaimed debut Smiling With No Teeth, Owusu turns his attention to survival, perseverance and the absurdity of life, creating a restless album that moves freely between hip-hop, punk, funk, alternative rock and experimental pop.

The album opens with the urgent Leaving The Light and features The Roach, Freak Boy, Tied Up! and Stay Blessed. Across 11 tracks, Owusu explores what it means to keep moving when there are no obvious answers, using the image of the seemingly indestructible roach as a recurring symbol of resilience and survival.

STRUGGLER was recorded between Australia and the United States with a diverse group of producers and collaborators including Jason Evigan, Mikey Freedom Hart, Sol Was, Andrew Klippel and Dave Hammer.
