Pre-Order Terms & Conditions

Pre-ordering vinyl records is a fantastic way to secure a copy of an upcoming release—especially limited editions and exclusive pressings. At Heathen Records, we share your passion for music and aim to bring the most exciting releases straight to your turntable. But it's important to understand how pre-orders work in the world of independent music retail.

How Pre-Orders Work

When you place a pre-order, we order stock from our network of labels and distributors based on demand. However, supply is not always guaranteed. Labels and distributors may ship fewer copies than we request, and delays are common due to production setbacks or allocation decisions outside our control.

Although we do everything we can to fulfil your pre-order on time, sometimes the title arrives late—or in rare cases—not at all. We’re upfront about this because we value your trust and continued support for independent music retail.

Payment & Cancellations

  • Pre-orders must be paid in full at checkout.
  • We don’t accept unpaid reservations to avoid excess unsellable stock.
  • You can cancel your pre-order before fulfilment by emailing us with your order number at admin@heathenrecords.com.au.

Order Fulfilment & Refunds

Pre-orders are processed in the order they're received. However, your order is not guaranteed until stock is confirmed.

If your pre-order cannot be fulfilled due to supply issues, you’ll be offered the following options:

  • Full refund including merchant fees.
  • Alternative option of equal or lesser value if you'd prefer to choose a different item.
  • Wait for the item to become available again (we’ll keep you updated).

Pre-Order Shipping

If your order includes both in-stock and pre-order items, we’ll ship everything together once the pre-order arrives. For updated release dates, please check the product listing on our website.

Delays & Changes

  • Release dates are set by the labels and are subject to change without notice.
  • We update our listings with the most current information as soon as it becomes available.

Vinyl Variants & Product Changes

From time to time, the vinyl variant we receive may differ from the one originally listed (e.g. color changes). If that happens, we’ll contact you to confirm whether you'd like to proceed with the updated version.

Stock Limitations

In cases where we receive fewer units than anticipated, we reserve the right to limit or cancel orders. We always allocate stock on a first-come, first-served basis.
