Breakaway is the second studio album from Kelly Clarkson, originally released in 2004. Moving beyond the sound of her debut, Clarkson embraced a bigger mix of pop rock, alternative-influenced guitars and emotionally direct songwriting, creating the album that established her as one of the defining pop voices of the mid-2000s.

The album is packed with some of Clarkson’s best-known songs, including Since U Been Gone, Behind These Hazel Eyes, Because of You, Walk Away and the title track Breakaway. From huge guitar-driven choruses to piano-led ballads, the record balances polished pop production with a tougher rock edge and Clarkson’s powerful vocal performances.

Breakaway brought together an extensive group of writers and producers, including Max Martin, Dr. Luke, Ben Moody, David Hodges and John Shanks. The combination helped shape a sound that moved comfortably between radio-ready pop and alternative rock, while giving Clarkson considerably more room to establish her own musical identity.

Released in 2024 to mark the album’s 20th anniversary, this Vinyl LP edition is pressed on black vinyl and presents the original 12-track album across two sides, concluding with the live version of Beautiful Disaster.
