Amyl and The Sniffers – Truth Or Consequence Live Album (Vinyl LP)

Australian punk rock favourites Amyl and The Sniffers take an unexpected turn on Truth or Consequence, a live album that reimagines their explosive sound through a distinctly country-influenced lens. Released in 2026 as the companion to the concert film of the same name, the record captures the Melbourne band's raw energy in an intimate setting, trading some of their familiar punk rock aggression for twangy guitars, loose arrangements and an unmistakably Australian sense of humour.

Recorded live at El Coyote in Los Angeles on 28 April 2025, the performance features Amy Taylor and the band working through fresh interpretations of familiar favourites alongside previously unreleased material. The set opens with Big Dreams before moving through Hertz, Jerkin', Chewing Gum and Facts. Rather than simply recreating the original studio recordings, the band approach these songs with a different musical character, revealing another side of their songwriting without sacrificing their personality or intensity.

The second half of the album includes Caltex Cowgirl, Snakes and Me & The Girls (Are Drunk at the Pigfarm), alongside the unreleased Little Bit Punk, Little Bit Country. A particularly fitting addition is the band's cover of Slim Dusty's Lights on the Hill, connecting their contemporary Australian punk identity with a classic of Australian country music. The performance concludes with Bag of Cocaine, bringing the thirteen-song set to a close.

Filmed and recorded by longtime collaborator John Angus Stewart, Truth or Consequence captures the atmosphere of a small, increasingly rowdy audience experiencing the band from a completely different perspective. This 2026 vinyl LP edition presents all thirteen live recordings across two sides, offering a distinctive addition to the Amyl and The Sniffers catalogue for fans of Australian punk, garage rock and alternative country.
