Angus & Julia Stone – Karaoke Bar (Indie Exclusive Orange, Blue & Red Vinyl LP)

Australian sibling duo Angus & Julia Stone return with Karaoke Bar, their 2026 studio album and another captivating chapter in a musical partnership spanning two decades. Known for their intimate songwriting, distinctive vocals and atmospheric blend of indie folk and alternative pop, the pair explore a brighter, more playful direction while retaining the emotional depth that has defined their music since their earliest recordings. Inspired by travels, personal experiences and encounters around the world, Karaoke Bar captures the excitement of discovering new places alongside the nostalgia of looking back.

The album opens with its title track, Karaoke Bar, introducing a collection that moves between warm melodies, reflective storytelling and adventurous production. Monroe and Celestial Bodies continue the journey, while The Start and Strangely Strangely complete the first side. Throughout the record, Angus and Julia exchange lead vocals, sing together in unison and weave their unmistakable harmonies around arrangements that draw from folk, indie pop and contemporary alternative music.

The second side begins with Brightest Place, followed by the evocative Take Me Back to Japan and Cowgirls Lover Boi. The Cherry Farm and closing track Mexico City continue the album's sense of travel, memory and connection. Rather than relying solely on the understated acoustic arrangements associated with their earlier work, the duo explore a broader musical palette, using layered instrumentation and expressive production to complement the stories behind each song.

Following acclaimed releases including Down the Way, Snow and Cape Forestier, Karaoke Bar demonstrates Angus & Julia Stone's continuing creative evolution. Its combination of melodic warmth, gentle melancholy and renewed optimism makes it a rewarding addition to their catalogue, balancing familiar songwriting strengths with a willingness to experiment.
