Selected Ambient Works 85-92 is the landmark debut studio album from Aphex Twin, the electronic music project of Richard D. James. Originally released in 1992, the album brings together material created between 1985 and 1992, blending warm analogue textures, hypnotic rhythms, atmospheric synths and understated techno into a sound that became hugely influential across ambient, electronic and experimental music.

The 13-track album opens with the essential Xtal before moving through favourites including Tha, Pulsewidth, Ageispolis, Green Calx and Heliosphan. The second LP includes We Are The Music Makers, Schottkey 7th Path, Ptolemy, Delphium and the closing Actium, completing an album that remains remarkably distinctive decades after its original release.

Selected Ambient Works 85-92 captures an early period in Richard D. James' career, combining the pulse of techno and electro with melodic, dreamlike soundscapes. Its combination of rhythm and atmosphere helped establish Aphex Twin as one of electronic music's most innovative artists and made the album an enduring reference point for ambient techno and IDM.

This official remastered vinyl reissue presents the complete 13-track album across two black vinyl LPs. The pressing uses the 2013 remasters created from the original DAT tapes, with lacquers cut by Matt Colton, and is presented with the original album artwork.
