Britney Spears - Britney Jean (Vinyl LP)

Britney Jean is the eighth studio album from Britney Spears, originally released in 2013. Combining dance-pop, electronic production and more personal songwriting, the record moves between high-energy club tracks and reflective ballads. This 2023 black vinyl LP features the expanded 14-track programme, including four deluxe bonus songs.

Led by the bold, pulsating single Work Bitch, the album reflects the electronic dance music sound of the early 2010s. The atmospheric opener Alien, co-produced by William Orbit, explores feelings of isolation, while Perfume offers a more vulnerable side of Spears' vocals and storytelling. The contrast between these songs gives the album much of its character.

Executive-produced by will.i.am, Britney Jean includes collaborations with the Black Eyed Peas musician on It Should Be Easy, rapper T.I. on Tik Tik Boom and Britney's sister Jamie Lynn Spears on Chillin' with You. Songs such as Body Ache and Til It's Gone favour propulsive dance beats, while Passenger and Don't Cry introduce a softer, more introspective mood.

The four bonus recordings broaden the album's emotional and musical range. Brightest Morning Star and Hold On Tight lean into intimate pop melodies, Now That I Found You returns to an uplifting dance sound, and Perfume (The Dreaming Mix) revisits the single in a different arrangement.

Issued by Legacy Recordings in March 2023, this standard black vinyl LP presents all fourteen songs across two sides. It is an appealing addition to a Britney Spears collection, especially for listeners drawn to her electronic-pop era.
