Originally released in 1997, Buena Vista Social Club is a landmark recording that introduced generations of listeners around the world to the extraordinary richness of traditional Cuban music. Recorded at the historic EGREM studios in Havana, the album brought together a remarkable group of veteran Cuban musicians for performances filled with warmth, character and timeless musicianship.

Featuring the iconic opening track "Chan Chan" alongside favourites including "Dos Gardenias", "El Cuarto De Tula", "Candela" and "El Carretero", the album draws on Cuban son, bolero, danzón and guajira traditions. Its relaxed performances and beautifully natural recording have helped make it one of the most celebrated Cuban albums ever released.

Produced by Ry Cooder for World Circuit, the sessions brought together legendary performers including Compay Segundo, Ibrahim Ferrer, Rubén González, Omara Portuondo, Eliades Ochoa and Orlando "Cachaíto" López. Recorded over just a handful of days in Havana, the sessions captured an extraordinary chemistry between musicians whose careers stretched back decades.

This 180g Vinyl 2LP edition presents the complete 14-track album across four sides of heavyweight black vinyl. Cut from the original analogue master tapes and mastered by renowned engineer Bernie Grundman, it comes housed in a gatefold sleeve and offers a beautifully presented vinyl edition of this classic recording.
