Calvin Harris – 18 Months (Vinyl 2LP)

18 Months is the chart-topping third studio album from Scottish DJ, producer and songwriter Calvin Harris, originally released in October 2012. Packed with era-defining dance anthems and unforgettable collaborations, the album helped transform Harris into one of the world's biggest electronic music producers. Blending electro house, progressive house, dance-pop and infectious synth-driven melodies, 18 Months captures the sound of early 2010s club culture at its most exciting.

Following his earlier albums I Created Disco and Ready for the Weekend, Harris shifted his focus towards producing tracks with guest vocalists. The result was an extraordinary collection of hit singles featuring Rihanna, Ellie Goulding, Florence Welch, Kelis, Ne-Yo, Example, Tinie Tempah and more. The album produced nine UK Top 10 singles, setting a record for the most Top 10 hits from one studio album in the UK at the time.

Opening with the atmospheric instrumental Green Valley, the album quickly moves into Bounce, featuring Kelis, a pulsating electro-house anthem built around an irresistible synthesiser hook. Feel So Close follows with Harris himself on vocals, combining euphoric melodies and a driving dance beat. The first side closes with We Found Love, his global smash hit with Rihanna, whose soaring chorus and explosive production became one of the defining sounds of the decade.

Side B opens with We'll Be Coming Back, featuring Example, a powerful combination of emotional vocals and energetic electronic production. The instrumental Mansion leads into Iron, Harris's collaboration with Dutch producer Nicky Romero. I Need Your Love, featuring Ellie Goulding, closes the side with a memorable vocal performance and an uplifting, melodic dance arrangement.

Across the second record, Harris continues to explore different styles and collaborations. Drinking from the Bottle pairs his production with Tinie Tempah's confident delivery, while Sweet Nothing, featuring Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine, combines dramatic vocals with a soaring electronic arrangement. School provides a brief instrumental interlude before Here 2 China brings together Dillon Francis and Dizzee Rascal for a heavier, rhythm-driven track.

The final side features Let's Go, the high-energy collaboration with Ne-Yo, followed by the club-focused instrumental Awooga. Closing track Thinking About You, featuring Ayah Marar, delivers one last burst of euphoric dance-pop energy.

With its exceptional collection of singles and influential electronic production, 18 Months remains an essential album for fans of dance music, EDM and 2010s pop. It captures a pivotal moment when electronic music moved from clubs and festivals into the centre of mainstream popular culture.

This black vinyl 2LP edition presents all 15 tracks across four sides, including extended versions of Bounce and Feel So Close. Released through Columbia Records, the double-vinyl format is an excellent way to enjoy the album's expansive electronic production and dancefloor-ready arrangements.
