Hot House: The Complete Jazz At Massey Hall Recordings (180g Vinyl 3LP Box Set)

Released in 2023, Hot House: The Complete Jazz At Massey Hall Recordings presents one of the most celebrated live performances in jazz history in its most complete vinyl form. Recorded at Massey Hall in Toronto on 15 May 1953, the concert brought together five giants of bebop: Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Bud Powell, Charles Mingus and Max Roach.

The legendary quintet set features extraordinary performances of "Perdido", "Salt Peanuts", "Hot House", "A Night In Tunisia" and "All The Things You Are / 52nd Street Theme", capturing five of the genre's most important musicians at a remarkable moment in jazz history.

The expanded collection also includes additional performances from the evening featuring the Bud Powell Trio and Max Roach, with tracks including "I've Got You Under My Skin", "Embraceable You", "Cherokee" and "Lullaby Of Birdland".

This 180g Vinyl 3LP edition includes both the original quintet recordings without bass overdubs and the classic Jazz At Massey Hall versions with Charles Mingus' later bass overdubs. The set features mastering and audio restoration by Paul Blakemore, lacquers cut by Kevin Gray, two insightful essays and previously unseen photography.

Supplied brand new and sealed, it's an essential archival release for collectors of bebop, classic jazz and landmark live recordings on vinyl.
