Chris Cornell - No One Sings Like You Anymore (180g Vinyl LP)

No One Sings Like You Anymore is a deeply personal collection of cover songs from legendary American singer-songwriter Chris Cornell, best known as the extraordinary voice behind Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple of the Dog. Originally released digitally in December 2020, this posthumous album brings together 10 carefully chosen recordings that celebrate the artists and songs that influenced Cornell throughout his remarkable career. Showcasing his unmistakable vocal power, emotional depth and musical versatility, the album is a fitting tribute to one of rock music's greatest singers.

The collection features Cornell's haunting interpretation of Nothing Compares 2 U, written by Prince, alongside his powerful rendition of the Guns N' Roses classic Patience. Other highlights include John Lennon's Watching the Wheels, Harry Nilsson's Jump Into the Fire, Get It While You Can, famously performed by Janis Joplin, and Electric Light Orchestra's Showdown. Each song is transformed through Cornell's distinctive voice and deeply expressive approach to songwriting and performance.

Further highlights include the atmospheric Sad Sad City, originally recorded by Ghostland Observatory, the soulful You Don't Know Nothing About Love, Terry Reid's To Be Treated Rite and the emotional closing track Stay with Me Baby. Moving effortlessly between classic rock, soul, blues and acoustic arrangements, the album reveals the extraordinary breadth of Cornell's musical influences.

Recorded in 2016, No One Sings Like You Anymore was Cornell's final fully completed studio album. He personally selected and sequenced the songs, creating a collection that reflects his appreciation for music across different generations and genres. The recordings were produced and mixed by acclaimed producer Brendan O'Brien, whose long association with Cornell and Soundgarden helped shape the album's warm, intimate sound.

Throughout his career, Chris Cornell earned widespread recognition for his remarkable four-octave vocal range, passionate performances and influential contributions to alternative rock and grunge. As the frontman of Soundgarden and Audioslave, and through his acclaimed solo recordings, he became one of the defining voices of his generation. On No One Sings Like You Anymore, his ability to reinterpret familiar songs with sincerity and emotional intensity demonstrates why his musical legacy remains so enduring.

The album's rendition of Patience, released in July 2020 to mark what would have been Cornell's 56th birthday, became his first solo number-one single on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart. Its success introduced another generation of listeners to his extraordinary voice and provided a moving reminder of his lasting influence.
