Christina Perri – Lovestrong (Limited Edition Clear Vinyl LP)

Lovestrong. is the heartfelt debut studio album from American singer-songwriter Christina Perri, originally released in May 2011 through Atlantic Records. Featuring her breakthrough hit Jar of Hearts alongside fan favourites Arms and Distance, the album introduced listeners to Perri's distinctive combination of intimate piano ballads, acoustic pop and emotionally honest songwriting.

Born in Pennsylvania, Christina Perri rose to international attention when Jar of Hearts was featured on the television series So You Think You Can Dance in 2010. The song's haunting piano melody, powerful chorus and deeply personal lyrics quickly connected with audiences, establishing Perri as one of the most promising new singer-songwriters of the period.

Working with acclaimed producer Joe Chiccarelli, Perri developed a debut album that explores love, heartbreak, vulnerability and emotional resilience. Blending piano-driven pop with acoustic guitars, atmospheric strings and expressive vocals, Lovestrong. captures the intensity of relationships through songs that feel both personal and universally relatable.

The album opens with Bluebird, a reflective introduction built around delicate instrumentation and Perri's distinctive voice. Arms follows with one of the record's most uplifting moments, exploring the vulnerability of allowing someone into your life. Its memorable melody and soaring chorus helped establish the song as another defining Christina Perri favourite.

Bang Bang Bang brings a darker, more rhythmic energy, while Distance explores the emotional uncertainty of loving someone from afar. The album's centrepiece, Jar of Hearts, remains Perri's signature breakthrough recording. Combining restrained piano passages with a dramatic vocal performance, the song delivers a powerful message about heartbreak, self-respect and moving forward.

Mine closes the first side with another intimate exploration of love and emotional attachment. Throughout these opening tracks, Perri balances accessible pop melodies with the confessional storytelling that became a hallmark of her music.

Side B begins with the brief Interlude before moving into Penguin, a tender love song inspired by the idea of finding a lifelong companion. Miles continues the album's emotional journey with its atmospheric arrangement and expressive vocal delivery, while The Lonely explores isolation and heartbreak through one of the record's most affecting performances.

Sad Song introduces a more playful musical approach without abandoning the album's reflective themes. Closing track Tragedy provides a dramatic conclusion, bringing together Perri's powerful vocals and emotionally charged songwriting.

Upon release, Lovestrong. reached number four on the US Billboard 200 and helped establish Christina Perri as an internationally recognised recording artist. Its combination of memorable melodies, intimate arrangements and heartfelt lyrics continues to resonate with listeners who appreciate contemporary singer-songwriter music.
