Ed Sheeran – - (Subtract) (Limited Edition Yellow Vinyl LP)

Released in 2023, − (Subtract) is Ed Sheeran's fifth studio album and the final instalment of his mathematical-symbol album series. Written amid grief, uncertainty and major changes in his personal life, it turns away from the bright, expansive pop of some earlier releases in favour of intimate songwriting and arrangements that leave space for difficult emotions.

Boat opens with a quiet determination to keep going, while Salt Water and Eyes Closed confront loss from different perspectives. Life Goes On reflects on absence, and End of Youth captures the disorienting effect of painful experiences. The second side includes the rhythmic lift of Curtains, the reflective Borderline and the gentle, folk-influenced closer The Hills of Aberfeldy.

Created in collaboration with producer Aaron Dessner, Subtract blends acoustic guitar, piano, subtle electronics and orchestral textures without losing the directness of Sheeran's voice. This limited-edition yellow vinyl LP presents the original fourteen-song album sequence across two sides, offering a cohesive listen from its restrained opening to its reflective conclusion.
