King Tubby - Explosive Dub (Vinyl LP)

Explosive Dub brings together a selection of classic dub mixes from Jamaican studio pioneer King Tubby. Drawn from material recorded during the fertile mid-to-late 1970s period, the collection showcases Osbourne "King Tubby" Ruddock's revolutionary approach to the mixing desk, transforming reggae recordings through echo, reverb, drop-outs and an intense focus on bass and rhythm.

The 12-track vinyl collection includes Soundtrack Dub, Easy Skanking Dub, Burning Dub, Stepping Dub, Babylon Dub and Love Me With Your Heart Dub. Stripped-back rhythms, deep basslines and constantly shifting studio effects place Tubby's mixing technique firmly at the centre of the music.

King Tubby's work from this period played a crucial role in the development of dub, treating the recording studio itself as an instrument and radically reshaping existing reggae tracks into new compositions. Explosive Dub offers an accessible collection of these techniques in action and a strong introduction to one of Jamaican music's most influential studio innovators.

This Clocktower Records vinyl edition presents 12 dub cuts across a single black vinyl LP.
