Green Day – American Idiot (Vinyl 2LP)

American Idiot is the seventh studio album from American punk rock band Green Day, originally released in 2004. A politically charged concept album and one of the defining rock releases of the 2000s, American Idiot marked an ambitious new chapter for the band, combining their explosive punk rock sound with sweeping arrangements, memorable melodies and an interconnected story of rebellion, disillusionment and identity.

The album features some of Green Day's biggest songs, including American Idiot, Holiday, Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Wake Me Up When September Ends. Other highlights include St. Jimmy, Letterbomb, She's a Rebel and the epic nine-minute compositions Jesus of Suburbia and Homecoming, which demonstrate the band's expanded songwriting ambitions.

Produced by Rob Cavallo and Green Day, American Idiot follows the fictional character Jesus of Suburbia through a story of frustration, escape, love and self-discovery. Featuring Billie Joe Armstrong on guitar and vocals, Mike Dirnt on bass and Tré Cool on drums, the album combines the urgency of punk rock with influences from classic rock operas and theatrical storytelling.

Released during a period of political and social uncertainty, American Idiot became a major critical and commercial success, winning the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album and introducing Green Day to a new generation of listeners. Its distinctive heart-shaped hand grenade artwork and powerful collection of songs have made it one of the band's most recognisable and influential releases.

This official Reprise Records vinyl edition presents the complete 13-track album across two black vinyl LPs, housed in a gatefold sleeve. The double-LP format preserves the original album's sequencing across four sides.
