Green Day - Insomniac (Vinyl LP)

Insomniac is the fourth studio album from American punk rock band Green Day, originally released in 1995. Arriving after the enormous success of Dookie, the album delivers a darker, faster and more aggressive sound, combining relentless punk energy with Billie Joe Armstrong's sharp songwriting and lyrics exploring anxiety, frustration, alienation and the pressures of sudden fame.

The 14-track album features some of Green Day's most explosive early favourites, including Geek Stink Breath, Stuck With Me, Brain Stew, Jaded and Walking Contradiction. Other highlights include Armatage Shanks, Brat, 86 and the powerful Panic Song, showcasing the band's raw energy, driving rhythms and unmistakable melodic instincts.

Produced by Rob Cavallo and Green Day, Insomniac reunited the band with the producer behind their breakthrough album Dookie. Featuring Billie Joe Armstrong on guitar and vocals, Mike Dirnt on bass and Tré Cool on drums, the record captures Green Day at their most intense, with distorted guitars, rapid-fire drumming and tightly constructed punk rock songs.

The album is also recognised for its distinctive cover artwork, God Told Me to Skin You Alive, created by artist Winston Smith. Although darker and more abrasive than its predecessor, Insomniac remains a defining release in Green Day's catalogue and an essential album from the 1990s punk rock revival.

This official Reprise Records vinyl edition presents the complete original 14-track album on a single black vinyl LP.
