Iron Maiden – Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son (Remastered Vinyl LP) is the legendary seventh studio album from British heavy metal pioneers Iron Maiden. Originally released in April 1988, this ambitious concept album features the classic tracks Can I Play with Madness, The Evil That Men Do, Infinite Dreams and The Clairvoyant. Combining soaring vocals, intricate twin-guitar harmonies and progressive songwriting, it remains one of the defining heavy metal albums of the 1980s.

Following the success of Somewhere in Time, Iron Maiden returned with an album that expanded their musical ambitions even further. Inspired by folklore surrounding the mystical powers of a seventh son of a seventh son, the record explores prophecy, supernatural abilities, good and evil, and the struggle between fate and free will.

Featuring the classic line-up of Bruce Dickinson on vocals, Steve Harris on bass, Dave Murray and Adrian Smith on guitars, and Nicko McBrain on drums, the album captures Iron Maiden at a creative peak. Produced by longtime collaborator Martin Birch, its layered arrangements and atmospheric synthesisers complement the band's unmistakable heavy metal sound.

Opening track Moonchild introduces the album's supernatural themes with an atmospheric spoken introduction before launching into driving guitar riffs and powerful rhythms. Infinite Dreams follows with one of Maiden's most accomplished progressive arrangements, shifting between reflective passages and explosive instrumental sections.

Can I Play with Madness brings a more direct, melodic approach, combining an instantly recognisable chorus with the band's characteristic energy. Released as the album's lead single, it became one of Iron Maiden's most successful and enduring songs.

The Evil That Men Do closes the first side with soaring vocals, galloping bass and memorable guitar harmonies. Its dramatic arrangement and powerful chorus have made it a longstanding favourite among Maiden fans.

Side B opens with the extraordinary title track, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. Running for nearly ten minutes, this epic composition is the centrepiece of the album, combining atmospheric instrumental passages, shifting tempos and elaborate guitar arrangements. It demonstrates the band's ability to incorporate progressive rock influences without sacrificing their heavy metal identity.

The Prophecy continues the album's mystical narrative, while The Clairvoyant opens with Steve Harris's distinctive bass playing before developing into another powerful Maiden anthem. Closing track Only the Good Die Young brings the story to its conclusion, returning to the album's central themes and musical ideas.

Upon release, Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and produced four UK Top 10 singles. Its success reinforced Iron Maiden's position as one of the world's leading heavy metal bands.

More than three decades later, the album remains an essential recording for fans of traditional and progressive heavy metal. Its combination of imaginative storytelling, ambitious compositions and unforgettable melodies makes it one of the most rewarding albums in Iron Maiden's extensive catalogue.

This remastered vinyl edition presents the complete original eight-track album on a black vinyl LP, featuring the iconic cover artwork by Derek Riggs. The striking illustration depicts the band's mascot Eddie in an icy, surreal landscape, perfectly reflecting the album's supernatural atmosphere.

Whether you're discovering Iron Maiden's classic 1980s recordings or completing your vinyl collection, Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son is an essential addition for any heavy metal fan.
