Jodeci – Forever My Lady (35th Anniversary Remastered Vinyl 2LP)

Jodeci – Forever My Lady (35th Anniversary Remastered Vinyl 2LP) celebrates 35 years of one of the most influential R&B albums of the 1990s. Originally released in 1991, Forever My Lady introduced the world to Jodeci, the American vocal quartet whose combination of gospel-inspired harmonies, new jack swing rhythms and hip-hop attitude helped reshape contemporary R&B. Featuring the classics Forever My Lady, Come and Talk to Me, Stay and I'm Still Waiting, the album remains essential listening for fans of 90s R&B and soul.

Formed by brothers K-Ci and JoJo Hailey alongside brothers DeVante Swing and Mr. Dalvin, Jodeci brought a distinctive edge to the polished R&B sound of the early 1990s. Their powerful vocals, emotionally charged performances and streetwise image helped establish a new direction for male vocal groups, influencing generations of artists who followed.

Produced by DeVante Swing and Al B. Sure!, Forever My Lady blends soulful ballads with contemporary hip-hop rhythms and new jack swing production. The group's gospel roots are evident throughout, particularly in the expressive lead vocals of K-Ci and JoJo, whose harmonies give the album its unmistakable emotional intensity.

Opening track Stay immediately establishes Jodeci's signature sound, combining passionate vocals with a smooth, atmospheric groove. Come and Talk to Me follows with one of the group's most enduring performances, pairing romantic lyrics with a laid-back rhythm and memorable vocal arrangements.

The title track, Forever My Lady, became a defining R&B ballad of its era, while I'm Still Waiting showcases the quartet's ability to balance heartfelt songwriting with sophisticated production. Together, these songs helped establish Jodeci as one of the leading R&B acts of the decade.

Elsewhere, U & I, My Phone and Gotta Love explore the group's more rhythmic side, while Play Thang, It's Alright and Treat U demonstrate the combination of smooth harmonies and contemporary grooves that made their debut so distinctive.

Forever My Lady reached number one on Billboard's Top R&B Albums chart and achieved triple platinum certification in the United States. Its influence can be heard across decades of R&B, from the vocal groups of the 1990s to modern artists blending soul, hip-hop and contemporary pop.

This special 2026 35th Anniversary Edition has been remastered and expanded across two black vinyl LPs, featuring the original twelve-track album plus five bonus recordings.

The additional tracks include the hip-hop version of Cherish, the radio remix of Come and Talk to Me, the Swing Mob radio mix of I'm Still Waiting, an a cappella performance of Stay and a live recording of Forever My Lady from Uptown MTV Unplugged in 1993. These bonus recordings provide a fascinating look at the group's vocal talent and the different arrangements that helped define their early success.
