Kanye West – Late Registration (Vinyl 2LP)

Released in 2005, Late Registration finds Kanye West broadening the soul-sample approach of his debut into an ambitious, richly arranged hip-hop album. Working with Jon Brion, he brings strings, horns and layered instrumental textures into songs that remain driven by sharp beats and memorable hooks.

Heard 'Em Say opens with a reflective mood, while Touch the Sky turns a triumphant brass sample into an exuberant anthem. Gold Digger pairs a playful hook with pointed observations about money and relationships. Roses shifts towards family and vulnerability, and Diamonds from Sierra Leone addresses the uncomfortable relationship between luxury and exploitation.

The record moves between humour, ambition and self-examination, with Hey Mama providing one of its most personal moments. Gone closes the album's musical arc with a shifting arrangement and layered guest performances. This double-vinyl LP includes the album's songs and interludes in the track order shown below.
