Katy Perry - Prism (Vinyl 2LP)

Prism is the fourth studio album from American pop superstar Katy Perry, originally released on 18 October 2013. Blending infectious dance-pop, electronic production and emotionally charged songwriting, the album marked an important evolution in Perry's sound. Following the phenomenal success of Teenage Dream, she returned with a collection exploring personal growth, resilience, love and self-discovery, delivering some of the biggest pop anthems of the decade.

The 13-track album opens with the empowering worldwide hit Roar, an uplifting anthem about finding strength and confidence. Another standout is Dark Horse, featuring rapper Juicy J, which combines atmospheric electronic production with an unforgettable chorus. Both songs topped the US Billboard Hot 100 and became defining hits of Perry's career.

Other highlights include the emotional ballad Unconditionally, the infectious Birthday, the dancefloor-ready Walking on Air and the playful This Is How We Do. Tracks such as Legendary Lovers, International Smile and Ghost showcase Perry's ability to move between euphoric pop, electronic dance music and introspective songwriting.

The album's more reflective moments emerge on Love Me, This Moment, Double Rainbow and the deeply personal closing track By the Grace of God. These songs explore vulnerability, emotional recovery and the importance of self-acceptance, adding depth to an album celebrated for its irresistible melodies and polished production.

Working with an acclaimed team of producers and songwriters, including Max Martin, Dr. Luke, Stargate, Benny Blanco and Greg Wells, Perry created an album combining contemporary pop with influences from electronic dance music, disco and alternative pop. The result is a colourful and ambitious collection that balances stadium-sized anthems with intimate, personal storytelling.

Upon its original release, Prism debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 and achieved major international success, including reaching number one on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart. The album produced multiple hit singles and further established Katy Perry as one of the defining pop artists of the 2010s.

This official 2023 10th Anniversary Vinyl Edition celebrates a decade of Prism, presenting the complete original 13-track album across two black vinyl LPs. Released through Capitol Records and Universal Music, this double-vinyl pressing features the original album artwork and unforgettable songs including Roar, Dark Horse, Unconditionally and Birthday.

With its combination of uplifting pop anthems, emotional ballads and polished production, Prism remains an essential addition to any contemporary pop vinyl collection.
