Lizzy McAlpine – Older (Crystal Clear Vinyl LP)

Older is the third studio album from American singer-songwriter Lizzy McAlpine, originally released in April 2024. Blending intimate indie folk, alternative pop and beautifully understated acoustic arrangements, the album marks a significant creative evolution for an artist celebrated for her emotionally honest songwriting and expressive vocals. Written during a period of personal growth and change, Older explores the complexities of relationships, heartbreak and finding your place in the world.

The 14-track album features the deeply personal title track Older, alongside standout songs including Come Down Soon, I Guess, Movie Star and Vortex. Further highlights include Drunk, Running, Broken Glass, Staying and Better Than This. Moving between delicate acoustic passages and richly layered arrangements, the record showcases McAlpine's ability to communicate complicated emotions through deceptively simple melodies.

Recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Lizzy McAlpine and Mason Stoops, with additional production from Ryan Lerman, Jeremy Most and Tony Berg, Older embraces a more organic and collaborative recording approach. Warm acoustic guitars, expressive piano, subtle percussion and atmospheric instrumentation provide a natural setting for McAlpine's distinctive voice, allowing the emotional weight of each song to take centre stage.

Following the success of her 2022 album Five Seconds Flat and the breakthrough single Ceilings, Older represents a more mature and introspective chapter in McAlpine's career. Rather than relying on elaborate production, the album places its focus on thoughtful arrangements, nuanced performances and deeply personal storytelling. Its exploration of vulnerability, independence and growing older makes it a compelling listen from beginning to end.

This official 2024 RCA Records vinyl edition presents the complete 14-track album on a single crystal clear vinyl LP, housed in its original picture sleeve with a printed insert.
