Massive Attack V. Mad Professor – Part II (Mezzanine Remix Tapes '98) (Limited Pink Vinyl LP)

Part II (Mezzanine Remix Tapes '98) brings together the long-unreleased dub reworkings of Massive Attack created by legendary producer Mad Professor during the sessions surrounding Mezzanine. Originally made in 1998 but not released as a complete collection until 2019, these mixes take the dark, atmospheric foundations of Massive Attack's landmark third album deep into dub territory.

The eight-track collection includes radically reworked versions of Angel, Teardrop, Inertia Creeps, Risingson, Exchange and Group Four. Mad Professor strips the recordings apart and rebuilds them around deep bass, echo, delay and spacious rhythms, creating an alternate perspective on one of the defining albums of the trip-hop era.

Also included are two tracks from the same period that did not appear on Mezzanine. Metal Banshee (Mad Professor Mix One) is a dub treatment connected to Massive Attack's Superpredators, while Wire (Leaping Dub) reworks the track Massive Attack recorded for the Welcome to Sarajevo soundtrack. The collection follows the earlier Massive Attack and Mad Professor collaboration No Protection, which similarly transformed material from Protection through Mad Professor's distinctive dub production.

This Limited Edition Vinyl LP is pressed on 180g pink coloured vinyl. The sleeve was designed by Robert Del Naja and Tom Hingston using original artwork by Aiden Hughes, giving this long-awaited collection a distinctive physical presentation.
