MC5 - Heavy Lifting (Arctic Pearl Vinyl LP)

Heavy Lifting is the final studio album from Detroit rock pioneers MC5, arriving more than five decades after 1971's High Time. Led by founding guitarist Wayne Kramer and released posthumously in 2024, the album carries the band's rebellious garage rock and proto-punk spirit into a new era while bringing together an impressive group of musicians influenced by MC5's legacy.

The 13-track album includes Heavy Lifting featuring Tom Morello, The Edge Of The Switchblade with William DuVall and Slash, Black Boots featuring Tim McIlrath and Can't Be Found with Vernon Reid and original MC5 drummer Dennis "Machine Gun" Thompson. Thompson also appears on Blind Eye, making the album an important final chapter in the band's story.

Heavy Lifting was recorded with legendary producer Bob Ezrin, with Wayne Kramer co-writing 12 of its 13 songs. Kramer died in February 2024 after recording had been completed, followed by Thompson in May. The album was released the day before MC5 received the Musical Excellence Award at the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

This Limited Edition Vinyl LP presents the complete 13-track studio album on a single 180g Arctic Pearl coloured vinyl record, housed in a gatefold sleeve. This is the coloured single-LP edition and does not include the bonus MC50 live recordings found on the separate 2LP version.
