MGMT - Loss Of Life (Blue Jay Vinyl LP)

Loss Of Life is the fifth studio album from psychedelic pop duo MGMT, released in 2024. Arriving six years after Little Dark Age, the album finds Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser exploring themes of love, change and growing older through a characteristically colourful mix of psychedelic pop, indie rock, electronic textures and unexpected stylistic turns.

The ten-track album features Mother Nature, Bubblegum Dog, Nothing To Declare and Dancing In Babylon, the latter featuring Christine and the Queens and marking the first featured-artist collaboration on an MGMT album. Other highlights include the expansive Nothing Changes, People In The Streets and the title track Loss Of Life.

Loss Of Life was produced by MGMT and Patrick Wimberly, with mixing and additional production by longtime collaborator Dave Fridmann. Its distinctive cover uses John Baldessari's artwork Noses & Ears, Etc. (Part Two), complementing an album that balances MGMT's playful psychedelic instincts with some of their most reflective songwriting.

This Indie Exclusive edition presents the complete ten-track album on a single 140g Blue Jay Opaque vinyl LP, housed in a gatefold sleeve with printed inner sleeve.
