Originally released in 1982, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 is the fourth studio album from Midnight Oil and a defining release in Australian rock. Combining the band's urgent guitar-driven sound with increasingly ambitious production and politically charged songwriting, the album marked a major breakthrough for the Oils and helped establish them as one of Australia's most important bands.

Featuring enduring classics including "Power and the Passion", "US Forces", "Read About It" and "Short Memory", the album tackles themes of politics, environmental concerns, nuclear conflict and Australian identity. Peter Garrett's unmistakable vocals are backed by the powerful rhythm section of Rob Hirst and Peter Gifford and the distinctive guitar work of Jim Moginie and Martin Rotsey.

Produced by Nick Launay and Midnight Oil and recorded at The Town House in London, the album brought a sharper, more atmospheric edge to the band's sound.
