I Dream of Christmas – Norah Jones (Transparent Red Vinyl LP)

Norah Jones – I Dream of Christmas is the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter's first Christmas album, originally released in October 2021. Bringing together beloved festive standards and heartfelt original songs, the record blends jazz, soul, blues and warm acoustic arrangements. This edition is pressed on beautiful transparent red vinyl LP, making it a wonderful addition to any Christmas record collection.

Best known for her acclaimed debut Come Away with Me, Norah Jones brings her unmistakable voice and expressive piano playing to a collection of seasonal music that feels intimate, relaxed and timeless. Rather than relying on elaborate orchestration, I Dream of Christmas favours natural performances, subtle grooves and arrangements that allow each song's melody to shine.

Produced by Leon Michels, the album features a talented group of musicians, including drummer Brian Blade, with horns, pedal steel guitar and other instruments adding colour throughout. The result is a Christmas album equally suited to a quiet evening at home or a festive gathering.

Opening track Christmas Calling (Jolly Jones) is an original composition built around a joyful piano melody and a longing for togetherness. Jones transforms the playful Christmas Don't Be Late into a laid-back, soulful performance, while Christmas Glow and Christmastime demonstrate her gift for writing new songs that feel like familiar seasonal favourites.

Her interpretations of White Christmas and Blue Christmas bring a gentle, blues-inflected warmth to two enduring classics. It's Only Christmas Once a Year and You're Not Alone explore the emotional side of the holidays, balancing nostalgia with reassurance and hope.

Side B also includes a relaxed version of Winter Wonderland, the spirited Run Rudolph Run and a beautiful interpretation of Christmas Time Is Here, the Vince Guaraldi classic associated with A Charlie Brown Christmas. The album closes with the reflective standard What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?.

Combining traditional favourites with thoughtful new material, I Dream of Christmas offers a distinctive, soulful soundtrack for the festive season. This 2021 transparent red vinyl edition is an appealing choice for Norah Jones fans and collectors of Christmas music.
