Olivia Dean – The Art Of Loving (Limited Special Tour Edition Transparent Vinyl LP)

The Art of Loving is the acclaimed second studio album from British singer-songwriter Olivia Dean, originally released in September 2025 through Island Records. Following her breakthrough debut Messy, Dean delivers a beautifully crafted collection of contemporary soul, jazz-influenced pop and heartfelt songwriting. Featuring her warm, expressive vocals, elegant arrangements and intimate storytelling, the album explores the many different ways love shapes our lives.

Across twelve tracks, The Art of Loving examines romantic relationships, friendship, self-acceptance and emotional growth. Rather than presenting love as something simple or effortless, Dean approaches the subject with curiosity, vulnerability and optimism. The result is a sophisticated yet accessible record that balances timeless soul influences with a fresh contemporary sound.

The album opens with the reflective title-track introduction before moving into Nice to Each Other, an infectious, rhythm-driven song celebrating kindness and connection. Lady Lady brings a confident, playful energy, while Close Up offers a more intimate perspective on relationships. The irresistible So Easy (To Fall in Love) combines warm, retro-inspired instrumentation with Dean's effortless vocal delivery, showcasing her ability to make classic soul influences feel distinctly modern.

Let Alone the One You Love closes the first side with a tender exploration of the emotional challenges that accompany close relationships. Throughout these opening tracks, Dean combines thoughtful lyrics with richly textured arrangements, creating music that feels both personal and universally relatable.

Side B opens with Man I Need, one of the album's defining singles. Its bright instrumentation, memorable chorus and confident vocal performance capture the excitement of knowing what you want from a relationship. Something in Between follows with a more nuanced examination of emotional uncertainty, while Loud explores the importance of communication and vulnerability.

Baby Steps reflects on personal growth and the gradual process of learning to navigate love and relationships. A Couple Minutes offers a beautifully understated moment, allowing Dean's expressive vocals and storytelling to take centre stage. Closing track I've Seen It brings the album to a thoughtful conclusion, reinforcing its themes of understanding, acceptance and emotional maturity.

Blending elements of neo-soul, jazz, R&B and contemporary pop, The Art of Loving highlights Olivia Dean's distinctive place in modern British music. Its combination of memorable melodies, elegant instrumentation and emotionally honest songwriting makes it an essential listen for fans of contemporary soul.
