Prince – For You (180g Vinyl LP)

Originally released in 1978, For You is the debut studio album from Prince and the first glimpse of the extraordinary talent that would soon make him one of the most influential artists in popular music. Recorded while Prince was still a teenager, the album blends funk, soul, R&B and pop with the ambitious studio experimentation that would become central to his sound.

Featuring the early classic "Soft and Wet" alongside "Just as Long as We're Together", "In Love" and "I'm Yours", the album moves between smooth soul, romantic ballads and tightly arranged funk. Prince wrote, arranged, produced and performed virtually the entire record himself, showcasing an extraordinary level of creative control from the very beginning of his career.

Tracks such as "Crazy You", "My Love Is Forever" and "So Blue" reveal the melodic and vocal range that Prince would develop across his later albums, while the closing "I'm Yours" pushes the record into a harder, guitar-driven direction.

This Vinyl LP reissue presents the complete original nine-track album on classic black vinyl, faithfully reproducing Prince's landmark 1978 debut.

Supplied brand new and sealed, it's an essential addition for Prince fans and collectors of classic funk, soul, R&B and pop on vinyl.
