The Gold Experience is the seventeenth studio album from Prince, originally released in 1995 during one of the most fascinating periods of his career. Originally credited to his then-unpronounceable Love Symbol, the album combines funk, rock, soul, R&B and pop in a bold, expansive collection that captures Prince at his most creative and uncompromising.

The album features The Most Beautiful Girl In The World, Gold and [Eye] Hate U, alongside fan favourites including Endorphinmachine, Shhh, Dolphin, 319 and Billy Jack Bitch. Short NPG Operator interludes appear throughout the record, helping tie the album together as a complete listening experience.

Released during Prince's highly publicised dispute with Warner Bros., The Gold Experience arrived at a time when he was performing with the word "SLAVE" written on his face and challenging the traditional relationship between artists and major record labels. Musically, however, the album is exuberant and wide-ranging, moving from hard-edged funk and guitar-driven rock to lush ballads and ambitious pop production.

This vinyl reissue presents the original album across two 150g black vinyl LPs, restoring one of the key releases from Prince's mid-1990s catalogue to vinyl.
