R.E.M. – In Time: The Best of R.E.M. 1988–2003 (180g Vinyl 2LP)

Originally released in 2003, In Time: The Best of R.E.M. 1988–2003 surveys the band's Warner Bros. years, when they moved from alternative-rock favourites to worldwide success without losing their curiosity about sound and songwriting. The collection places familiar singles alongside songs that reveal the group's more experimental and reflective tendencies.

Man on the Moon blends playful storytelling with a soaring chorus, while Losing My Religion makes a mandolin figure the centre of an unlikely pop hit. Everybody Hurts is a compassionate ballad; Orange Crush carries a sharper rhythmic urgency, and Imitation of Life shows the band's gift for bright, melodic pop. Tracks such as Daysleeper, Electrolite and Nightswimming bring quieter textures and emotional depth.

The result is more than a simple run of hits: it traces changes in instrumentation, atmosphere and lyrical focus across fifteen years. This 180g double-LP edition spreads the eighteen selected tracks over four sides.
