Radiohead – In Rainbows (Vinyl LP)

In Rainbows is the acclaimed seventh studio album from English alternative rock band Radiohead, originally released in October 2007. Following the electronic experimentation of Kid A, Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief, the band returned with a beautifully balanced collection of atmospheric rock, intricate rhythms and emotionally direct songwriting. Combining organic instrumentation with subtle electronic textures, In Rainbows is widely regarded as one of Radiohead's finest achievements.

The album opens with 15 Step, an infectious combination of unusual time signatures, electronic percussion and Jonny Greenwood's distinctive guitar work. Bodysnatchers follows with distorted guitars, driving rhythms and one of the band's most energetic performances. The haunting Nude showcases Thom Yorke's expressive falsetto against delicate instrumentation, while Weird Fishes/Arpeggi builds through interlocking guitars, hypnotic rhythms and atmospheric melodies.

All I Need closes the first side with a powerful combination of restrained vocals, deep bass and gradually intensifying arrangements. On Side B, Faust Arp introduces acoustic guitar and orchestral strings before Reckoner delivers one of the album's defining moments, combining intricate percussion, shimmering guitars and soaring vocals.

House of Cards explores a more spacious, groove-driven sound, while Jigsaw Falling Into Place brings urgency and momentum through its rhythmic acoustic guitars and dynamic vocal performance. Closing track Videotape strips the arrangements back to piano, subtle percussion and deeply reflective lyrics, providing an intimate conclusion to the record.

Produced by longtime collaborator Nigel Godrich, In Rainbows highlights the remarkable musical chemistry between Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Ed O'Brien, Colin Greenwood and Philip Selway. Its warm production, detailed arrangements and balance of experimentation and melody make it an essential album for fans of alternative and art rock.

The album also made music history through its unconventional digital release, which allowed listeners to choose their own download price. Beyond its innovative distribution, In Rainbows remains celebrated for its cohesive songwriting and immersive sound.

This 180g black vinyl LP edition from XL Recordings presents all ten original album tracks across two sides. From the rhythmic complexity of 15 Step to the atmospheric beauty of Reckoner and Videotape, the album is a rewarding addition to any Radiohead vinyl collection.
