Sepultura - Nation (180g Remastered Vinyl 2LP)

Nation is the eighth studio album by Brazilian metal pioneers Sepultura, originally released in 2001. A forceful statement from the band's Derrick Green era, it combines crushing groove metal, hardcore aggression and tribal rhythms with lyrics exploring unity, resistance and social change.

Following 1998's Against, the band developed a more politically charged sound built around Andreas Kisser's heavy guitar riffs, Igor Cavalera's inventive percussion, Paulo Jr.'s bass and Derrick Green's commanding vocals. The album imagines a nation founded on solidarity rather than division, giving its relentless music a unifying message.

Opening track Sepulnation establishes the album's defiant mood, followed by the explosive Revolt and the grinding Border Wars. One Man Army and Vox Populi pair muscular rhythms with memorable choruses, while Uma Cura and Tribe to a Nation expand the band's blend of metal and Brazilian influences.

Guest contributors include Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed, Jello Biafra of Dead Kennedys, João Gordo of Ratos de Porão and Cristian Machado of Ill Niño. The closing instrumental Valtio, performed by Finnish cello-metal group Apocalyptica, provides an atmospheric finale.

This 2022 BMG reissue is half-speed remastered and pressed across two heavyweight 180g black vinyl LPs. With all fifteen tracks spread over four sides, it is a compelling addition to any Sepultura or groove metal collection.
