Sepultura – Roots (Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Deluxe Box Set 5LP Vinyl)

Roots is the landmark sixth studio album from Brazilian metal pioneers Sepultura, originally released in 1996. One of the most influential heavy albums of the decade, it pushed the band's sound beyond thrash and death metal into crushing groove metal, incorporating Brazilian percussion, indigenous musical influences and experimental textures to create a sound that was both unmistakably heavy and unlike almost anything else in metal at the time.

The original album features Sepultura classics including Roots Bloody Roots, Ratamahatta, Attitude, Breed Apart and Straighthate. Produced by Ross Robinson, Roots also features collaborations and influences that broadened the band's sonic palette, with its combination of downtuned riffs, tribal percussion and Brazilian musical traditions becoming hugely influential across metal and alternative heavy music.

This massive 25th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition expands Roots across five black vinyl LPs. Alongside the remastered original album and Canyon Jam, the collection includes the 2 Meter Sessions, demos, instrumental rough mixes, alternate mixes and additional recordings including War, Mine and Procreation (Of The Wicked).

The fifth LP contains a previously unreleased Ozzfest performance recorded in Phoenix on 25 October 1996, featuring live versions of Roots Bloody Roots, Territory, Breed Apart, Attitude, Arise, Refuse/Resist and more. The collection also includes a live performance of Attitude from Ozzfest in San Bernardino the following day.

Created as a limited one-time pressing, the five records are presented across three gatefold tip-on jackets inside a custom spot-varnished hard box featuring new artwork. An exclusive embroidered Sepultura patch and fold-out poster are also included, making this one of the most comprehensive vinyl editions of Roots.
