Sex Pistols – Never Mind The Bollocks Here's The Sex Pistols (Vinyl LP)

Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols is the explosive 1977 debut and only studio album by British punk pioneers Sex Pistols. Featuring Anarchy in the U.K., God Save the Queen, Pretty Vacant and Holidays in the Sun, its confrontational lyrics, razor-sharp riffs and defiant attitude helped change rock music forever.

Emerging from London's mid-1970s punk scene, vocalist Johnny Rotten, guitarist Steve Jones, drummer Paul Cook and bassist Glen Matlock challenged the excesses of mainstream rock. Sid Vicious later replaced Matlock, becoming part of the band's notorious image. Produced by Chris Thomas, with Bill Price involved in the sessions, the album combines raw aggression with surprisingly powerful, tightly constructed performances.

Holidays in the Sun opens with marching drums and a fierce guitar attack. Bodies and No Feelings maintain the intensity, while Liar delivers another blast of snarling punk. Problems leads into God Save the Queen, the controversial anthem released during Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee year.

Side B begins with the restless Seventeen before Anarchy in the U.K. unleashes one of punk's defining riffs and choruses. The slower groove of Sub-Mission contrasts with the infectious Pretty Vacant, while New York and EMI bring the record to a suitably uncompromising close.

Released in October 1977, the album reached number one in the UK and became a defining statement of British punk. Its bold yellow-and-pink sleeve is as instantly recognisable as its music.

This Rhino heavyweight reissue presents all twelve original album tracks on 180g black vinyl, with the iconic artwork and a printed insert. An essential LP for collectors of punk rock and influential British music.
