Originally released in 2003, The Official Fiction is the fourth studio album from Something For Kate and one of the defining releases in the Australian alternative rock band's catalogue. Combining Paul Dempsey's distinctive songwriting with atmospheric guitars, intricate arrangements and a more expansive production style, the album debuted at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart.

Featuring standout singles including "Déjà Vu", "Song For A Sleepwalker", "Best Weapon" and "Moving Right Along", the album balances powerful guitar-driven moments with some of the band's most reflective and atmospheric material. Tracks such as "Max Planck", "Reverse Soundtrack" and "Coldwater Canyon" further showcase the depth and ambition of the record.

Recorded in Sydney and Los Angeles, The Official Fiction was co-produced by Something For Kate and Trina Shoemaker, known for her work with artists including Queens of the Stone Age and Wilco. The album also features guest contributions from Caitlin Cary, Grant-Lee Phillips and Lisa Germano.

Celebrating two decades since its original release, this Limited Edition 20th Anniversary Vinyl LP is pressed on striking blue and white marbleised vinyl. The anniversary edition comes in updated gatefold packaging featuring select new imagery and includes handwritten lyrics for the first time.
