Spacey Jane – Here Comes Everybody (Vinyl LP)

Spacey Jane – Here Comes Everybody is the second studio album from the acclaimed Australian indie rock band, released in June 2022. Following the success of their debut Sunlight, the Fremantle four-piece returned with twelve songs that combine bright guitar melodies, driving rhythms and deeply personal lyrics. This edition is pressed on standard black vinyl LP.

Written during the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, Here Comes Everybody explores anxiety, growing up, strained relationships and the pressure facing younger generations. Frontman Caleb Harper pairs direct, vulnerable songwriting with the band's signature sound: ringing guitars, memorable hooks and expansive choruses. The album takes its title from an early working title for Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.

The opening track Sitting Up captures feelings of uncertainty and self-discovery, while Lunchtime brings the energetic, melodic sound that made Spacey Jane favourites on Australian radio. Lots of Nothing, which placed third in triple j's Hottest 100 of 2021, is another standout, balancing a buoyant guitar arrangement with lyrics about emotional disconnection.

Clean My Car and Hardlight highlight the band's knack for turning introspective themes into soaring indie rock, while It's Been a Long Day closes the first side on a reflective note. On Side B, Bothers Me and Not What You Paid For continue the album's candid storytelling. Haircut adds a punchy, guitar-led highlight, and Head Above explores the emotional complexity of leaving home.

The final songs, Yet and Pulling Through, bring the record toward a more hopeful conclusion. Together, these twelve tracks show Spacey Jane building on the melodic appeal of their debut while broadening their songwriting and arrangements.

This 2022 black vinyl LP presents the complete album in its original running order, housed in a gatefold sleeve. An essential addition for fans of Australian indie and alternative rock.
