Steely Dan – Aja (180g Remastered Vinyl LP)

Aja is the sixth studio album from legendary American jazz-rock band Steely Dan, originally released in 1977. Widely regarded as one of the finest albums of the 1970s, Aja represents the creative peak of songwriting duo Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, combining sophisticated jazz harmonies, immaculate studio production and infectious rock and pop melodies. Its extraordinary musicianship and timeless sound have made it an essential album for both music lovers and vinyl collectors.

The seven-track album features some of Steely Dan's most celebrated recordings, including Deacon Blues, Peg, Josie and the magnificent title track Aja. Other highlights include the funky opening song Black Cow, the soulful Home at Last and the jazz-influenced I Got the News. From intricate instrumental passages to unforgettable vocal melodies, every track demonstrates the band's remarkable attention to musical detail.

Produced by longtime collaborator Gary Katz, Aja features an extraordinary collection of session musicians, including Wayne Shorter on saxophone, Steve Gadd on drums, Larry Carlton on guitar and Chuck Rainey on bass. Fagen and Becker drew on the talents of nearly 40 musicians during the recording sessions, carefully crafting a sophisticated sound that blends jazz fusion, funk, soft rock and rhythm and blues.

Released during the height of Steely Dan's commercial and creative success, Aja became the band's best-selling studio album and earned widespread critical acclaim. The album won the Grammy Award for Best Engineered Recording, Non-Classical, reflecting its exceptional production quality. Its combination of musical complexity, accessible songwriting and pristine sound has made it a favourite among audiophiles and one of the most influential recordings of its era.
