Stone Temple Pilots – Core (180g Remastered Vinyl LP)

Released in 1992, Core introduced Stone Temple Pilots with a heavy yet melodic sound that stood out during alternative rock's commercial breakthrough. Scott Weiland's powerful, expressive vocals sit above Dean DeLeo's thick guitar riffs, Robert DeLeo's fluid basslines and Eric Kretz's muscular drumming.

The opening Dead & Bloated builds tension before Sex Type Thing and Wicked Garden deliver urgent, guitar-driven rock. Plush became one of the band's signature songs, while Creep explores a quieter, more introspective mood. The closing Where the River Goes stretches the band's sound into a more expansive arrangement.

Core balances forceful riffs with careful dynamics and memorable songwriting, laying the foundation for the band's later work. This listing is for the remastered 180g vinyl edition. This 2020 single-LP reissue uses the 2017 remaster and is pressed on 180g black vinyl.
