Sufjan Stevens - Javelin (48 Page Book of Art and Essays, Ltd. Lemonade Vinyl Record)

Javelin brings Sufjan Stevens’ intimate songwriting into a setting of acoustic instruments, layered voices and carefully built electronic textures. Released in 2023, it follows the emotional directness of his folk recordings while allowing individual songs to swell into something much larger.

Goodbye Evergreen opens with a striking change in scale, while Will Anybody Ever Love Me? and So You Are Tired keep the focus on searching, vulnerable lyrics. Shit Talk stretches the album’s arrangements further, before the closing There’s a World brings the sequence to a gentler landing.

This lemonade vinyl edition includes a 48-page book of artwork and essays, giving the album’s visual and written material space alongside the ten songs.
