Released in 2023, Javelin is the tenth studio album from Sufjan Stevens and a deeply personal return to the intimate singer-songwriter style that defined some of his most celebrated work. Beginning with delicate acoustic arrangements before expanding into rich layers of orchestration, electronics and harmony, the album balances moments of quiet reflection with sweeping, emotionally powerful production.

Featuring standout tracks including "Will Anybody Ever Love Me?", "So You Are Tired", "A Running Start" and the epic "Shit Talk", Javelin explores love, loss, devotion and the complexities of relationships. Almost every sound on the record was written, performed and recorded by Stevens himself at home, giving the album an intensely personal character despite its often expansive arrangements.

The album also features vocal contributions from adrienne maree brown, Hannah Cohen, Pauline Delassus, Megan Lui and Nedelle Torrisi, while The National's Bryce Dessner contributes acoustic and electric guitar to "Shit Talk". The record closes with Stevens' interpretation of Neil Young's "There's A World".

This Vinyl LP edition includes an impressive 48-page book of original art and essays created by Sufjan Stevens. Featuring collages, cut-up catalogue imagery, colourful artwork and 10 short essays, the book offers a fascinating visual and written companion to the album. The LP is pressed on classic black vinyl and also includes a printed inner sleeve.
