The Beatles - 1967-1970 (The Blue Album) (180g Half Speed Remastered Vinyl 3LP)

1967–1970 (The Blue Album) is the legendary greatest hits compilation celebrating the later years of The Beatles, originally released in 1973. Bringing together some of the most innovative, influential and beloved recordings in popular music, the collection traces the band's remarkable evolution from the psychedelic experimentation of 1967 through to their final studio recordings. From groundbreaking production techniques to unforgettable songwriting, The Blue Album captures a period of extraordinary musical creativity.

The collection features timeless Beatles classics including Strawberry Fields Forever, Penny Lane, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, All You Need Is Love, Hey Jude, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Here Comes the Sun, Come Together, Something and Let It Be. These recordings showcase the exceptional songwriting talents of John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison, alongside the unmistakable musicianship of Ringo Starr.

Originally released as a double album alongside the companion compilation 1962–1966 (The Red Album), The Blue Album has introduced generations of listeners to the extraordinary music of The Beatles. Covering the band's increasingly adventurous studio years, the collection draws from landmark albums including Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Magical Mystery Tour, The Beatles (The White Album), Abbey Road and Let It Be.

Released in 2023 to celebrate the compilation's 50th anniversary, this expanded edition adds nine tracks to the original 28-song collection, bringing the total to 37 recordings. The additional material includes Blackbird, Dear Prudence, Glass Onion, Within You Without You, Hey Bulldog, Oh! Darling, I Me Mine and I Want You (She's So Heavy), along with the remarkable final Beatles song, Now and Then.

Completed and released in 2023, Now and Then began as a home demo recorded by John Lennon in the late 1970s. Using modern audio restoration technology, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr completed the recording with previously recorded guitar contributions from George Harrison and a new string arrangement. Its inclusion makes this expanded edition a particularly significant release, bringing the band's recorded legacy full circle.

The 2023 edition brings together carefully prepared stereo mixes from across The Beatles' acclaimed catalogue reissue programme, including six new 2023 mixes. These updated recordings offer greater clarity and detail while preserving the character and atmosphere of the original performances.

This official 2023 Apple Records / Universal Music edition presents the complete expanded collection across three heavyweight 180g black vinyl LPs, prepared using half-speed mastering. Housed in a gatefold sleeve, the release includes an insert featuring new liner notes by journalist and author John Harris. All nine additional tracks are collected together on the third LP, making this a definitive vinyl edition of one of music's most celebrated compilations.
