The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Axis: Bold As Love (180g Mono Vinyl LP)

Axis: Bold As Love is the second studio album from The Jimi Hendrix Experience, originally released in 1967. Arriving only months after their groundbreaking debut, the album saw Jimi Hendrix, Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding push further into psychedelic rock, blues and experimental studio production while placing an even greater emphasis on songwriting, atmosphere and musical texture.

The 13-track album features some of Hendrix's most celebrated recordings, including Little Wing, Spanish Castle Magic, If 6 Was 9, Castles Made Of Sand and the closing title track Bold As Love. Other highlights include Up From The Skies, Wait Until Tomorrow and One Rainy Wish.

Produced by Chas Chandler and recorded with engineer Eddie Kramer, Axis: Bold As Love captures Hendrix rapidly expanding the possibilities of the recording studio. The album combines intricate guitar work with psychedelic effects, melodic ballads and the powerful rhythm section of Mitchell and Redding, resulting in one of the defining rock albums of the late 1960s.

This remastered mono edition uses the original 1967 monophonic mixes created by Jimi Hendrix, Chas Chandler and Eddie Kramer. Mastered by Bernie Grundman from the original mono master tapes, the complete 13-track album is presented on a 180g black vinyl LP.
