Nas - The Lost Tapes (Vinyl 2LP)

The Lost Tapes is a collection of previously unreleased recordings from legendary New York rapper Nas, originally released in 2002. Drawn primarily from sessions surrounding I Am... and Stillmatic, the album strips away the expectations of a conventional studio release and puts Nas's storytelling, introspection and lyrical ability firmly at the centre.

The collection features Doo Rags, My Way, U Gotta Love It, No Idea's Original and Purple, alongside deeper cuts including Blaze A 50, Drunk By Myself and Black Zombie. Despite being assembled from previously unreleased material, the 12-track collection has developed a strong reputation as a distinctive entry in Nas's catalogue.

The Lost Tapes draws on recordings made during one of Nas's most prolific periods, with production from contributors including L.E.S., The Alchemist, Rockwilder and others. Soulful samples and understated beats leave plenty of room for Nas's writing, from observations on life and success to vivid storytelling and reflections on his own experiences.

This remastered Vinyl 2LP edition was released in 2023 as part of the Hip Hop 50 campaign. The complete 12-track album is pressed across two 140g black vinyl records with full-colour labels and includes printed inner sleeves with credits and liner notes.
