The National – High Violet (180g Vinyl 2LP)

Released in 2010, High Violet is the fifth studio album from The National and one of the defining records of the band's career. Dark, atmospheric and emotionally charged, the album builds on the sound of Boxer with expansive arrangements, layered instrumentation and Matt Berninger's unmistakable baritone vocals.

Featuring some of The National's most enduring songs, including "Bloodbuzz Ohio", "Terrible Love", "Sorrow", "Conversation 16" and "England", the album moves effortlessly between intimate melancholy and sweeping, anthemic indie rock. Tracks such as "Afraid Of Everyone", "Lemonworld" and "Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks" have also become firm fan favourites.

Recorded at the band's studio in Brooklyn and Tarquin Studios in Connecticut, High Violet was produced by The National with assistance from longtime collaborator Peter Katis. The album also features contributions from musicians including Sufjan Stevens, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver and Richard Reed Parry of Arcade Fire.

This 180g Vinyl 2LP edition presents the complete 11-track album across four sides of heavyweight black vinyl, housed in a gatefold sleeve with custom printed inner sleeves.
