The Offspring – Americana (Gatefold Vinyl LP)

Americana is the fifth studio album from The Offspring, originally released in 1998. One of the defining punk rock albums of the late 1990s, it combines fast, energetic guitars and huge melodic hooks with Dexter Holland's sharp observations on American culture, consumerism and suburban life.

The 13-track album features some of The Offspring's biggest and most enduring songs, including Pretty Fly (For A White Guy), The Kids Aren't Alright, Why Don't You Get A Job? and She's Got Issues. Other highlights include Have You Ever, Staring At The Sun, Americana and the sprawling closing track Pay The Man.

Produced by Dave Jerden, Americana built on the success of Smash and Ixnay on the Hombre while pushing The Offspring further into the mainstream without abandoning their punk roots. Its combination of humour, social commentary, catchy choruses and high-energy performances helped make it one of the band's most recognisable releases.

This 2019 vinyl reissue presents the complete original album on a 180g black vinyl LP, housed in a gatefold sleeve.
