Let It Bleed is the landmark 1969 album from The Rolling Stones, featuring Gimme Shelter, Midnight Rambler, Monkey Man and You Can't Always Get What You Want. Blending blues, country, gospel and hard rock, it captures the band at a creative peak as the 1960s drew to a close.

Following Beggars Banquet, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts pushed their roots-driven sound into darker territory. Recorded during a period of change, the album includes Brian Jones' final contributions to a Stones LP and early appearances by his replacement, Mick Taylor. Jimmy Miller produced, with guests including Merry Clayton, Nicky Hopkins and Ry Cooder.

Opening track Gimme Shelter builds from Richards' ominous guitar figure into a storm of urgent vocals, crowned by Merry Clayton's unforgettable performance. The Robert Johnson cover Love in Vain reveals the band's blues foundations, while Country Honk reimagines Honky Tonk Women as a loose country number. Live with Me delivers swaggering rock before the title track closes Side A with rolling piano and earthy humour.

Side B begins with the dramatic, shifting blues of Midnight Rambler. Richards takes lead vocals on the intimate You Got the Silver, while Monkey Man combines atmospheric piano with snarling guitars. The album ends with You Can't Always Get What You Want, an expansive anthem featuring choir, horns and gospel-inspired backing vocals.

Reaching number one in the UK, Let It Bleed became a cornerstone of the Stones' celebrated late-1960s and early-1970s catalogue. Its iconic cover artwork was designed by Robert Brownjohn.

This 2019 50th Anniversary Edition presents the original nine-track stereo album, remastered by Bob Ludwig and pressed on 180g black vinyl. Lacquers were cut by Sean Magee at Abbey Road Studios. With restored original artwork and a printed inner sleeve, it offers a beautifully presented edition of a rock classic.
