The Shins - Chutes Too Narrow (20th Anniversary Remastered Vinyl LP)

Chutes Too Narrow is the second studio album from The Shins, originally released in 2003 through Sub Pop. Following the breakthrough success of Oh, Inverted World, the album sharpened James Mercer's distinctive approach to indie pop, combining chiming guitars, intricate melodies and thoughtful lyrics with arrangements that move effortlessly between upbeat guitar pop, folk and more reflective moments.

The concise 10-track album includes some of The Shins' most enduring songs, including Kissing The Lipless, So Says I, Young Pilgrims, Saint Simon and Pink Bullets. Further highlights such as Fighting In A Sack, Gone For Good and Those To Come helped establish the album as one of the defining indie rock releases of the early 2000s.

Chutes Too Narrow was recorded largely in James Mercer's basement home studio, with later mixing taking place at Avast! Recording Co. in Seattle with assistance from Phil Ek. For its 20th anniversary, the original album was freshly remastered by Adam Ayan under Mercer's supervision, preserving the character of the original recording while presenting it in newly remastered form.

This 20th Anniversary Edition features the complete 2023 remaster on a single black vinyl LP, presented in newly designed custom die-cut anniversary packaging.
