The Shins - Oh, Inverted World (20th Anniversary Remastered Vinyl LP)

Oh, Inverted World is the debut studio album from The Shins, originally released in 2001 through Sub Pop. A landmark of early-2000s indie rock, the album introduced James Mercer's distinctive songwriting through bright melodies, intricate guitar lines, atmospheric keyboards and lyrics that balance introspection with an unmistakably offbeat charm.

The album features New Slang, one of The Shins' defining songs, alongside favourites including Caring Is Creepy, Know Your Onion!, Girl Inform Me and The Past And Pending. Across its concise 11 tracks, Oh, Inverted World moves between jangly indie pop, psychedelic textures and more reflective moments, establishing the sound that would make The Shins one of the most influential indie bands of their era.

For the album's 20th Anniversary, the original recordings were fully remastered under the supervision of James Mercer. Mercer had long been dissatisfied with aspects of the original album's sound, making the anniversary an opportunity to revisit the record while preserving the performances and character that made it such an enduring release.

This 20th Anniversary Remastered Edition presents the complete 11-track album on a single black vinyl LP. The expanded anniversary presentation includes a die-cut jacket, inner sleeve and booklet featuring vintage photographs, handwritten lyrics and additional archival material.
