The Smiths - Hatful Of Hollow (180g Vinyl LP)

Originally released in 1984, Hatful Of Hollow is one of the most celebrated collections in The Smiths' catalogue. Bringing together early singles, B-sides and recordings from the band's BBC Radio 1 sessions, the album captures Morrissey, Johnny Marr, Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce during an extraordinary burst of creativity at the beginning of their career.

Featuring essential Smiths tracks including "How Soon Is Now?", "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now", "William, It Was Really Nothing" and "Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want", the collection combines some of the band's finest early singles with alternate versions of songs familiar from their debut album.

A major part of Hatful Of Hollow's appeal comes from its BBC session recordings, including versions of "This Charming Man", "What Difference Does It Make?", "Handsome Devil" and "Reel Around The Fountain". These raw performances capture the distinctive chemistry between Marr's intricate guitar work and Morrissey's unmistakable vocals, giving many of the songs a different character from their studio album counterparts.
