The Smiths - Rank (180g Vinyl 2LP)

Rank is the classic live album from The Smiths, originally released in 1988 following the band's breakup. Recorded at the National Ballroom in Kilburn, London during their 1986 tour, it captures Morrissey, Johnny Marr, Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce performing at the height of the band's powers, with Craig Gannon joining them on rhythm guitar.

The 14-track set includes live performances of The Queen Is Dead, Panic, Ask, The Boy With The Thorn In His Side, Cemetry Gates, I Know It's Over and Bigmouth Strikes Again. Also included is Johnny Marr's instrumental The Draize Train, alongside energetic medleys combining His Latest Flame / Rusholme Ruffians and Rubber Ring / What She Said.

Recorded in October 1986, only months before The Smiths disbanded, Rank provides an essential document of the group as a live band. Johnny Marr's distinctive guitar work and Morrissey's vocals are backed by the formidable rhythm section of Rourke and Joyce, capturing the urgency and energy that made the band's concerts so celebrated.

This 2016 remastered edition presents the complete 14-track live album across two 180g black vinyl records. The double LP comes housed in a gatefold sleeve with printed inner sleeves and a poster.
